Comoros Islands: The Comoros Islands are over 98% Muslim and Islamic fundamentalism is on the rise. Though there are some Christians, evangelism is forbidden and converts can face severe reprisals both socially and within their close family.

Musta Kim is one such Christian now suffering for his Christian faith. His ordeal began almost two years ago in March 2010 when he returned from an overnight prayer meeting to find that his house had been broken into.  The seemingly simple process of reporting the incident to the police has turned into a nightmare for him, during which he spent the best part of a year in prison.

While investigating the housebreaking, police discovered a bible and Christian film in his home. This changed the course of the enquiry and Musta, who had been a Muslim, quickly found himself imprisoned and under investigation for practicing a ‘forbidden faith’. After eight months in jail and with deteriorating health, he made a successful High Court appeal and was released. Though he is now free, his family has rejected him and he has been left isolated and suffering from an uncomfortable skin condition picked up while in prison.

Please pray for Musta and the Comorian church. Pray also for opportunities to open up to allow Steadfast to begin serving the church there.
